WTS International established Transportation YOU as a focused, interactive, mentoring program that offers girls ages 13-18 an introduction to a wide variety of transportation careers. Through the program, WTS chapters works to make a difference in the lives of young girls by offering programs and activities that will spark their interest in all modes of transportation and encourage them to take courses in math, science, and technology. The WTS Los Angeles Transportation YOU programs include: 

1. Adopt-a-School: The Adopt-a-School program engages students in various ways. The program includes presentations on transportation careers, mentoring workshops, project and agency tours, and establishing a sample curriculum for girls interested in transportation as a career choice. This also includes hosting an Girls Empowerment Summit, a career awareness program with keynote speakers and workshops with transportation professionals, providing insight on the various disciplines and education and training necessary for select career paths. 
2. High School Scholarships: WTS-LA distributes academic scholarships for high school students attending the schools in the Adopt-a-School program, with $20,000 awarded in high school scholarships. The high school scholarship program will start the call for applications through our Adopt-a-Schools in summer. 

These programs and activities are designed to connect the future workforce with STEM-oriented possibilities and to carry out our mission to "Engage and encourage high school students in transportation careers to build the workforce of tomorrow."
