College Outreach
With an ongoing commitment to the WTS-LA mission and goals, the College Outreach committee aims to connect aspiring transportation professionals with networking programs and professional development opportunities and access to potential employers in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. This committee engages with students in community college/trade schools, undergraduate, and graduate-level coursework who have an interest in transportation-related careers. Some College Outreach opportunities for students include the following:
- Annual WTS-LA Corporate Partner/Student Mixer
- Mentorship Program
- Professional Development Programs, such as Resume Writing and Interview Skills Workshops
- Project Tours
- Scholarship Opportunities
- Office Visits with Public Sector Leaders
The WTS-LA College Outreach Mentorship Program
The mentorship program runs from January to May. Mentors and mentees are expected to meet (virtually or in-person) at least once a month, and the College Outreach committee will be sending monthly prompts to help guide the mentorship check-in meeting. The mentorship program will also include a mid-program event and a program close event for all mentors and mentees.
