Awards Criteria

Recipients are selected based on their interest in a transportation-related field or STEM related fields that would contribute to the advancement of transportation industry, academic achievement, and demonstrated financial need. To be eligible for the Friends of WTS Scholarship: Promoting Young Women in Transportation, the applicant must:

• Be a female senior in high school in the Central Texas area
• Be on track to graduate in Spring or Summer 2025
• Plan to attend a trade school, college or university in the 2025-2026 academic school year
• Show a strong level of commitment to and participation in a transportation-related field or STEM related fields that would contribute to the advancement of transportation industry
• Demonstrate leadership
• Demonstrate financial need
