Calling all St. Louis Chapter Members! The WTS St. Louis Chapter is now seeking nominations for the 2025 Recognition Awards that will be presented on April 3, 2025, at our Annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner.
We would love to have at least one or two nominations from EACH chapter member. This is a great way to honor those who support transportation in our region, and to heighten awareness of WTS.
2025 WTS St. Louis Chapter Award Categories:
- Member of the Year
- Woman of the Year
- Employer of the Year
- Honorable Ray LaHood
- Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership
- Innovative Transportation Solutions
Please email nominations to Sara Nelson, [email protected] by 4:00 pm Friday, December 6, 2024. For each nomination made, please include a short reason why the nominee is deserving of the award!
The following summarizes each of the award categories.
Member of the Year: Honors a WTS member who has made extraordinary contributions to the goals and growth of WTS. This member promotes the reputation of WTS within the Transportation industry and revitalizes or expands a WTS Chapter or any of its functions.
Woman of the Year: Honors a woman who is a leader in transportation and makes an outstanding contribution to the Transportation industry. The nominee contributes to the advancement of women through programs or opportunities and advances the reputation and credibility of women in transportation.
Employer of the Year: Honors a business who support WTS through membership, sponsorship, and employee involvement. The nominee’s structure includes women in executive and senior positions leading initiatives. The structure must have career development and succession programs in place advancing women and must continue education programs and professional development support for women and provide internship opportunities supporting women entering the Transportation industry.
Ray LaHood Award: Honors an individual that leads by example in advocating for women to compete for key positions. The nominee must contribute to the advancement of women and minorities through programs or opportunities and show outstanding contributions to the Transportation industry.
Rosa Parks Award: Honors an individual, group, or organization that promotes diversity, inclusion, and multi-cultural awareness within their organization, within the Transportation industry or within a project or activity that supports the goals and mission of WTS. The nominee efforts and initiatives facilitate professional opportunities for women and minorities.
Innovative Solutions: Honors an innovative transportation solution, i.e. an initiative, project, or policy lead by women. The nomination must exhibit key elements of the innovative transportation solution and how the female members successfully implemented these elements and overcame challenges to achieve its purpose.
