Membership & Diversity

The Membership and Diversity committee is responsible for attracting and retaining members while promoting increased diversity of the membership. We strive to diversify our membership in terms of: Public and private sector, all transportation modes and related services, students, middle management, c-level executive leaders, and retired transportation professionals; gender and ethnicity. Membership and Diversity strives to increase and retain membership and diversity through identifying and meeting the needs of members and increasing diversity of programming. The membership and diversity committee provides a great opportunity to get to know each and every member of the chapter and to create a membership that reflects our community in Northeast Ohio.

Corporate Sponsors & Public Partners

The Corporate Sponsors and Public Partners committee is responsible for attracting and retaining Corporate Sponsorships and Public Partnerships. This committee maintains strong relationships with our sponsors and partners that help to keep WTS Northeast Ohio running. This committee is a great opportunity to grow your professional network. Corporate Sponsors and Public Partners committee works closely with Programs and Communications to make sure our sponsors and partners are acknowledged for all they do for our chapter.

Programs and Professional Development

The Programs Committee plans and prepares a schedule of events for the year and oversees the implementation chapter programs. The goal of the Programs Committee is to ensure professional development needs of the membership are satisfied. We regularly host state and local officials, key industry leaders, and experts on leadership and diversity. The Programs committee is a great opportunity to gain visibility and professional connections with industry leaders and provide fun and interesting events for our membership.

 

 

 

Scholarship

The Scholarship committee organizes fundraising and the distribution and awarding of our local annual graduate and undergraduate scholarships. This committee plays a big role in the development of future leaders through recognizing and supporting young women interested in transportation. The committee maintains relationships with local universities to identify transportation leaders, evaluates applications to select recipients, and submits candidates to WTSI for consideration. This committee provides a rewarding opportunity to get involved in WTS by supporting local female students who are studying in the field of transportation engineering.

Communications

The Communications committee maintains our social media presence and chapter website. This committee works closely with all other committees to advertise upcoming events, share about WTS Northeast Ohio, and attract new members. This committee is a great entrance to getting to know the chapter board and is great for those interested in website and social media content.

Transportation YOU

The Transportation YOU committee is responsible for the Chapter’s mentoring program. This primarily involves organizing mentoring events and programs for young women in Northeast Ohio in order to raise awareness about STEM and to educate young women about the field of transportation. This committee is dedicated to meeting outreach goals set forth by WTS International. See more information on our Transportation YOU program here.

Awards

The Awards committee solicits nominations for our chapter awards, develops selection criteria, organizes judging, and recommends winners for board approval. This committee works to celebrate those making a difference and supporting the advancement of women in our Northeast Ohio community.
