About WTS Houston Student Chapters and Student Members

WTS Houston is committed to attracting the next generation of transportation professionals by supporting student members and student chapters. We currently have two active student chapters: WTS Texas A&M University (TAMU) and WTS Texas Southern University (TSU). Each chapter holds general meetings, organizes on-campus and off-campus events (technical, social, and volunteer), and participates in Houston Chapter events. If you are a student at TAMU or TSU, please join your on-campus chapter!

If you do not yet have a chapter on your campus, we invite you to become an active member of WTS Houston! As a member, you will have opportunities to network with professionals in the transportation industry, have access to WTS Houston members-only events, and connect with other students and professionals that are in your field of study. WTS is an interdisciplinary organization, with professionals supporting multi-modal, roadway, rail, airport and maritime transportation projects.

Part of your WTS Houston membership will give you access to My WTS Communities. This portal gives you access to mentorship (Mentor Match), a career center with international postings, a Knowledge Lab with industry resources, WTS International sponsored scholarships, and discounted rates on educational and professional development programs.

Become A Student Member Today!

Student memberships are FREE for anyone currently enrolled as a full-time student. It is easy to become a student member! Simply click here to join.

Here are some tips for when you register:

• Please put your college or university as your Company
• After you create an account, you will be able to join the WTS Houston Chapter
• Have proof of enrollment ready for upload
• Your membership will not be finalized until you have selected a Chapter and provided proof of enrollment

This complimentary membership is granted to undergraduate students for four (4) years and graduate students for three (3) years.

WTS Houston Events & Programs

Student Members are encouraged to attend WTS Houston programs, including luncheons, technical tours, educational programming, and social events. For some events, students will be offered discounted or free admission. In addition, student members are encouraged to apply for all scholarship opportunities – with scholarships available to assist with school-related expenses or to cover travel expenses to attend WTSI Conference(s).
