GirlStart Girls in STEM Event 4/5/2025
Transportation YOU will host three workshops at the GirlStart Girls in STEM Conference on April 5, 2025, at Connally High School in Austin, TX.
The event will be tailored to girls currently in 4th-5th & 6th-8th grades, and they will discover the fun side of STEM careers at this unique annual conference just for them. The day is packed with three hands-on workshops led by women in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Separate workshops are provided by grade level (4th-5th and 6th-8th).
Our Transportation YOU volunteers will provide a brief presentation and overview of ourselves and our careers and assist the students in a hands-on STEM activity, Building Bridges. Participants will learn how to effectively work in teams, think outside the box, and develop unique and creative solutions to ensure their bridge design is strong enough to stack Jolly Ranchers without collapsing.

Join us for a series of presentations on upcoming women-led bridge construction in the City of Austin, including the Red Bud Trail and Barton Springs Road bridges and the Longhorn Dam Multimodal Improvements Projects. Presenters include Laurie Thering, PE (Project Manager - Capital Delivery Services) and Paulinda Lanham (Project Manager - Capital Delivery Services). This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the City's ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and improve community connectivity. We look forward to seeing you there!

2025 WTS International Annual Conference May 7-9, 2025
We look forward to seeing WTS members, chapters, partners, friends, and fellow transportation professionals at the 2025 WTS International Annual Conference in Toronto, Canada, May 7th – 9th. This year’s conference theme, The WTS Mosaic: Mobility + Momentum, highlights the culturally rich fabric of Toronto, while also addressing our industry's critical work to advance mobility, improve transportation access, and build collective momentum for the future.

Annual WTS HOT Chapter and CasITE Bike-n-Brunch 5/17/2025 (Check back for registration information)
Come join the WTS HOT Chapter and CasITE for a bike and brunch ride! Bring your bike, or make sure to rent one. This is a great opportunity to network with members from other organizations, exercise, explore Central Texas with all its new biking infrastructure, and start your weekend with some great food.
