Scholarship

Dear Collegiate Professionals and Students,

The Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Northeast Florida Chapter is pleased to offer the Chapter’s 10th Annual Scholarship Awards for the 2019-2020 school year.  We ask for the help of both collegiate professionals and students in publicizing this scholarship competition.  Please make this information available to all students who are interested in pursuing a career in a transportation related field and are currently enrolled in high school programs, vocational programs, undergraduate degree programs, or graduate degree programs.

Founded in 1977, WTS was created through the efforts of 40 women who recognized that a mechanism was needed to enhance the professional and personal advancement of women and to develop industry and government recognition of the increasing involvement of women in the field of transportation. WTS is now an international organization of more than 6,500 transportation professionals - both women and men in the United States, Canada and Great Britain.

Part of the WTS goal of fostering the development of women in the transportation field can be realized by encouraging bright new professionals to undertake careers in transportation.  The WTS Scholarships are awarded to women pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies in transportation or a related field that demonstrate leadership skills, ability, and interest.

This year the WTS Northeast Florida Chapter is pleased to offer a total of six local scholarships as well as six scholarship nominations to WTS International for qualifying female students.  The local scholarships include:
