WTS Central PA Woman of the Year
NTM staff attended the WTS Central PA Awards and Scholarship Gala at The Lodge at Liberty Forge in Mechanicsburg, PA on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, where NTM President Donna Newell received the 2023-2024 Woman of the Year Award! PA DEP Interim Acting Secretary Jessica Shirley was the Keynote Speaker for the event.
Principal owner and president of NTM, a women-owned business enterprise (WBE), Donna has over 28 years of civil engineering experience and specializes in hydrology and hydraulics (H&H). She has been the WTS Central PA Gala Co-Chair for two years and encourages NTM staff to serve in leadership roles in community and professional associations, with many staff serving in various positions, including previous president roles for WTS Central PA. She was awarded the 2019 Engineer of the Year from Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council and is a member of WTS, ASHE, PAFPM, ASFPM, ACEC, and ASCE. She understands the importance of having diversity in positions of ownership and leadership with the ability to influence the policies, procedures, and vision of the firm. NTM staff is made up of 41% women, with 48% in senior manager positions.
Through her leadership, NTM has become an award-winning firm. NTM was named Employer of the Year for 2018 by WTS Central PA and has also been awarded the 2014 Top 100 MBE Firm for the Mid-Atlantic Region. NTM has made the Best Places to Work in PA list for 10 straight years. The program recognizes outstanding Pennsylvania places of employment and is a project of the Central Penn Business Journal. Donna is especially proud of this award because it’s employee-driven and very personal to NTM’s culture and growth.
The PennDOT District 3-0 Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation (CSVT) Project Northern Section was also awarded the Innovative Transportation Solution Award that evening. NTM served as a design consultant for the project, which Donna and Rachel Tereska oversaw the 2D hydraulic analysis for the River Bridge.
Wayne Office Open House
On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, NTM hosted an Open House event at our new Wayne, PA office. With NTM’s recent growth, the Wayne office has expanded and there was a greater need for additional space. Guests and employees of NTM were invited to enjoy appetizers and drinks, while touring the new office location. One of the highlights of our new location includes an archaeological laboratory, with room to inspect and property clean artifacts.
