In honor of WTS Philadelphia's 45th anniversary, our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee is highlighting 45 female transportation pioneers, leaders and rising stars throughout the year. These 45 women in transportation have made an impact, continue to make us proud, and demonstrate the inextricable link between women and the success of our industry. Join us in celebrating Toyin, one of the 45 women!

Toyin

As part of Black History Month, WTS Philadelphia is proud to recognize a local leader in infrastructure and government relations, Toyin Ogunfolaj. Toyin is the Director of Social Value & Equity Americas at Jacobs, where she supports clients in embedding sustainable social, economic environmental solutions within their infrastructure. She is also a long-time member of WTS Philadelphia and currently serves on the Chapter’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee. Join us in celebrating Toyin’s remarkable achievements as we honor Black History Month. Learn more about Toyin here:

Toyin Ogunfolaju has over 20 years’ experience in the infrastructure and government relations industries. She leverages public/private/non-governmental partnership models as the foundation to identify opportunities and practices that promote regenerative social systems. She is the Director of Social Value & Equity Americas at Jacobs. Her role supports clients in embedding sustainable social, economic environmental solutions within their infrastructure, which can manifest itself through prioritizing equity in capital planning/execution, community benefits, workforce development, local supply chain sourcing, and meaningful community/stakeholder engagement. She has expertise in executive leadership, community engagement, and operations management. She is called upon to analyze critical requirements, identify areas of opportunity, generate solutions, and implement programs.

Toyin started her career working in government relations at a law firm, exposing her to the legislative process and how policies become law that governments then operationalize. After government relations, Toyin transitioned into a consulting role, and then became a manager in operations with the Maryland Department of Transportation, working with different parts of the organization to operationalize policies that would help those with disabilities have easier access to mass transit. The position fueled her passion for supporting communities with transcending underinvestment. She has held several project and program management roles within the Buildings and Infrastructure line of business for Jacobs.

She serves as a member of the Global Social Value & Equity Advisory Community of Practice, WTS Philadelphia, Conference of Minority Transportation Officials Philadelphia, Board Member of the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, and recently received the “Corporate Responsibility” Award for the 2023 Women of Color Magazine. Her proudest accomplishment to date is having and raising her 3-year-old son.
