The year 2023 marks RK&K’s 100th anniversary, an impressive century of supporting the transportation industry through collaborative teamwork, professional excellence, and unsurpassed quality and service. Across the company, RK&K staff have been celebrating the milestone together, from organized volunteering and community service events to fun family picnics.

Since the founding in 1923, RK&K has served the public and private sectors by providing multi-discipline planning, engineering, environmental, and construction phase services. Starting as a two-person partnership, RK&K has grown to more than 1,500 talented professionals across more than 33 offices in 32 locations in 11 states and Washington, DC.

RK&K has been serving Pennsylvania clients since 1959, and as RK&K has grown in the Commonwealth to 100+ professionals across seven offices, they continue to consistently create safe, efficient, innovative, and creative designs that range from large-scale expressways and interchanges to local safety and traffic operational improvements.

RK&K has prioritized the company-wide commitment to volunteering as part of the centennial celebrations, encouraging staff—and providing resources— to seek opportunities to perform civic, charitable, and humanitarian community service. In Philadelphia, RK&K is a consummate champion of the community, working hard to not only embody RK&K’s tagline “Responsive People, Creative Solutions” in the work they do, but also in the care they take to improve the communities where they live, work, and play. RK&K Philadelphia staff’s activism so far this year has included volunteering at MANNA where they packaged nearly 1,400 meals for patients; helping to guide visitors at the Philadelphia Flower Show; and participating in the City’s annual PARKing Day. 

RK&K is honoring their past and focusing on the future, looking toward what the next 100 years will bring through collaboration and creative opportunities to improve the transportation infrastructure in Philadelphia and beyond.
