WTS International Applauds the Passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

WTS International applauds Congress for its passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (H.R. 3684).  With an investment of $550 billion in new investments in infrastructure, this historic bipartisan legislation is a much-needed investment in the U.S. transportation network to deliver accessible and equitable mobility for all communities across the country.

“In order to fulfill the promise of this legislation, we need a diverse and capable workforce now and into the future,” says Paula Hammond, Chair, WTS International and Senior Vice President, National Transportation Market Leader, WSP. “Transportation is key to a strong economy and livable communities. Workforce development initiatives and inclusive recruitment can build a workforce that is ready to rise to the challenge and be representative of the communities we serve.”

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will support more than 700,000 new jobs in manufacturing, construction, and transportation.  “We have an opportunity to ensure that this investment in our nation’s infrastructure is also an investment in an equitable and accessible workforce,” states Sara Stickler, Executive Director, WTS International. “At WTS, we support the Administration in attracting, sustaining, connecting, and advancing a diverse workforce.  Our professional development and leadership training programs are preparing and elevating women to leadership positions today, and through our Foundation, we are developing and cultivating the next generation of workers, at all levels.”
