WTS-DC Creating Healthy Teams Event
Hosted by the Mentoring and Professional Development Committees
By: Lindsey Robertson Lentz
On November 21st, the WTS-DC Chapter Mentoring Program and Professional Development committees partnered to host the "Creating Healthy Teams" workshop. The workshop facilitator, Lindsey Robertson Lentz, Senior Principal at Evans Consulting, led the interactive event focused on the importance of creating healthy teams within organizations. The event was held at WMATA and attended by WTS-DC Chapter members, including participants in the 2024 Mentoring Program.
During the workshop, Lindsey guided participants through a deep dive into the critical components of a healthy team: resilience, trust and well-being, alignment, collaboration, and empowerment. By understanding these components, attendees were able to assess their own teams and identify areas for improvement.
The session included interactive breakout groups, allowing participants to network with fellow professionals and brainstorm strategies to enhance their teams' health and psychological safety. Some of the recommendations developed by the breakout groups included scheduling 1:1's with each team member, taking time to connect outside the office environment, and regularly practicing debriefing and lessons learned exercises.
