Winter Program Recap

Transportation Trivia

On February 20th, WTSCVA hosted a transportation-themed trivia event at Buskey Cider! Proceeds from the event benefit the WTS Foundation Fund, which provides scholarships to students pursuing transportation as a career and helps introduce middle- and high-school students to the transportation industry. 

Thank you to all who attended! Congratulations to the winning team: Michael Baker International’s The Baker Bus! Hosted by WTSCVA Scholarship Chair Anna Settlemyer, the trivia covered topics such famous women in transportation, recognizable bridges across the US, and cars in fiction. Stay tuned for next year’s Transportation Trivia event, as well as other ways to support WTS Foundation and our local Central Virginia community!

Transporting Change: Lessons from the Women of RMTA

On March 26th, WTSCVA hosted Joi Taylor Dean, CEO for the Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority (RMTA), and RMTA Board of Directors members Unwanna Dabney, Marilyn West, Jane DuFrane, and Dironna Clarke, in a discussion on RMTA’s initiatives and projects, along with a glimpse into their lives and their journeys to become transportation leaders. The panel was hosted virtually over Zoom. Thank you to all who attended!
