WTS-Boston Virtual Bridge Tour at the Cambridge Science Festival

WTS-Boston's Transportation YOU committee has teamed up with the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section (BSCES) to create a virtual bridge tour for the Cambridge Science Festival. This year – no need to walk!

Monday, April 19th
4:00 to 5:30 PM

Virtual via Zoom

We will station bridge engineers at several bridges in the Boston area and, using the magic of Zoom, we will “transport” you bridge to bridge. The bridge experts will cover the history, the physics and other great stories about the bridges.

While most will be in and around Boston, like the Zakim, others will be further away, like suspension bridges in Rhode Island, the Whittier Bridge in Amesbury, the Choate Bridge in Ipswich and the Canton Viaduct.

Cambridge Science Festival is a huge event every year that showcases Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) through many individual events put on by various organizations, including activities, demonstrations, workshops, tours, debates, contests, talks, and behind-the-scene glimpses to illuminate the richness of scientific inquiry and the excitement of discovery. This year, the Cambridge Science Festival is virtual and is happening all through April for a full month of fun.
