WTS-Boston Member on the Move: Carrie Lavallee
WTS-Boston congratulates Carrie Lavallee for her promotion to the position of Deputy Administrator and Chief Engineer of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. She and her team are diligently working on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) project lists, hiring key MassDOT roles, working on new federal formula funding and discretionary grant programs that will bring exciting infrastructure investments to Massachusetts. Carrie is also investing in the transportation industry’s future by hosting engineering student events, expanding MassDOT’s Internship/Co-Op programs, and engaging our staff through MassDOT’s Mentorship Program as a Mentor.
Carrie has served in multiple roles at MassDOT starting as a Civil Engineer I out of college and worked her way up through Project Management. She most recently served as the District 6 Project Development Engineer before becoming Acting Deputy Administrator and Chief Engineer in June 2021. Additionally, Carrie has been a longtime member of MassDOT’s Underwater Bridge Inspection Team performing inspections throughout Massachusetts. Carrie is a licensed Professional Engineer, a certified bridge inspector, an active member of WTS-Boston, and holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
