We are thrilled to introduce our newest committee members! 

Maria Scudella-Beltran:

Maria is a dedicated Marketing Manager known for her content development, marketing, newsletters, proposal management, event coordination, and networking expertise. Originally from New Jersey, she moved to Florida to pursue her education, earning a Master’s in Communication from Walden University and a Bachelor’s from FIU. Fluent in Spanish and Italian, Maria combines creativity, organization, and attention to detail to deliver impactful marketing strategies. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and friends at theme parks, movies, traveling, and cruising. Passionate about giving back, Maria volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association Southeast Florida Chapter and has previously served as a board member with the Association for Women in Communications (AWC) and as a Broward 211 Member.

Rachel Ruiz:

Rachel, originally from Cuba, discovered her passion for mathematics and science at an early age. This enthusiasm evolved into a deep interest in transportation and a commitment to improving mobility. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida International University and a Master of Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University. Rachel has gained extensive experience in the tolling industry during her tenure with the North Carolina Turnpike Authority. Currently, she works as a Project Manager at HNTB, where she supports the Greater Miami Expressway Agency in delivering technology driven design and construction projects. An active WTS member since 2013, she is committed to empowering women in transportation. Outside of her professional endeavors, she cherishes time with her daughter, husband, and parents, and enjoys dancing Flamenco and embarking on outdoor adventures.
