Kat Regnier

Kat Regnier was raised in Miami and currently works as a transportation planner at ICF. Kat plays a key role in supporting various transportation projects across the country. With over five years of professional experience, Kat's work in transportation planning is multidisciplinary, involving collaboration with community members and local, regional, state, and federal agencies in program development, implementation, and evaluation. Her expertise spans general transportation planning and policy, transportation demand management (TDM), grants management, transportation finance and funding, decarbonization, emerging technology, transportation data analysis, and spatial visualization. Kat earned master's degrees in both public health and urban planning from Florida State University. Before joining ICF, she worked with a community garden in a historically marginalized neighborhood in Tallahassee. After that, she returned to Miami to work at a local non-profit public health consulting firm and then at a boutique transportation planning firm. Since joining ICF in 2022, Kat has been recognized as the 2023 ICF Transportation Rookie of the Year and contributed to a project awarded the 2024 ICF Transportation Project of the Year. As Mentor-Protégé Program Chair and Transportation YOU Co-Chair, Kat is committed to bringing her vision, expertise, and collaborative approach to advance the mission of WTS and make a lasting impact in the South Florida region.

Nathalia Amaral

Nathalia Amaral is a transportation professional with over a decade of experience in transportation operations at the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 4. As the new Membership Chair for WTS South Florida, Nathalia is excited to bring her experience and expertise to assist our chapter in building connections, increasing engagement, and creating opportunities for women in the industry. Nathalia is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and the Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA). Beyond her professional involvement, Nathalia is committed to community engagement. She actively participates in the Mental Wellness Network Alliance in Coral Springs and has been a PTA member for Broward County Schools for over 12 years. Additionally, she has volunteered for several hurricane relief efforts, demonstrating her dedication to public service. Nathalia is pursuing a Master’s in Transportation Management at the University of Florida and will graduate next semester, further enhancing her expertise in the field. Serving as the Membership Chair, Nathalia will focus on expanding the organization’s network, fostering collaboration, and providing mentorship opportunities to help shape the future of transportation and inspire the next generation of professionals.
