February 2021: This month Transportation YOU Co-chairs, Ashlien Savage, Human Resource Manager, Foothill Transit, Barbara Marquez, Caltrans District 7 Deputy District Director for Sustainability and Innovation, along with Transportation YOU committee members, hosted career presentations for students at Westchester, Azusa, and Dorsey high schools via Zoom and Google Meets.

The goal of Transportation YOU is to expose and share career opportunities in transportation with young people as they consider their education and plan for the future. The committee presented on a variety of women leaders in history who paved the way for current opportunities and included a conversation with a contemporary leader in transportation Barbara Marquez.

Committee members invite students to participate in interactive games and questions and encourage students to ask questions. So far, over 50 students have attended the presentations and heard about career opportunities in transportation.
