Transportation YOU - 2017 Mentoring Day was held at Mid America Airport on Feb 28, 2017

46 Students joined WTS volunteers from MidAmerica Fire/EMS, US Air Force, KMOX , Spirit of St. Louis, Midwest Helicopter Academy, Young Eagles, USDA, SWIC, TSA and Survival Flight Inc. bring aircraft or other equipment to illustrate their career in aviation. The students also had a surprise visit from 3 F-18 pilots who were waiting for their aircraft to be refueled!

Brittney Johnson, Structural Analysis Engineer from Boeing, gave a Fundamentals of Flight presentation to gear the students up for their wooden glider competition!

13 Women from the United States Air Force and NGA with a range of backgrounds, including a flight nurse and weather forecaster, came to inspire the students to consider a career in Transportation and share how they have overcome different obstacles in their careers.
