On Wednesday, February 7th, our WTS Student Chapter hosted a mentor mixer to kickoff the 2024 WTS Student Chapter Mentor Program. This program connects students with professional mentors across various transportation fields to provide insights and guidance while in school and after graduation. This year, there will be 20 pairs of students and mentors in the program. 

The event commenced with a warm welcome and introduction from our Student Chapter Co-Chairs, Student Chapter President, and Student Chapter board members. The main portion of the event was a speed networking style mixer where mentees rotated between the various mentors in the program. The mentors and mentees were able to meet their potential partners, and mentees were able to practice their networking skills. 

Over the course of this year, mentors and mentees will be guided through the program with packets related to various topics critical to the mentees future in the transportation industry. These topics include goal setting, time management, and receiving feedback. 

The WTS Philadelphia Student Chapter would like to thank McCormick Taylor for hosting this event and extends its heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors and the dedicated professional volunteers from various engineering firms and public agencies. This event served as an invaluable opportunity for students to gain knowledge and experience, and we are immensely appreciative of our ability to offer this support to them on their educational and professional journey.
