Sharlane Bailey, Foothill Transit - Member of the Year
The WTS-LA recognizes a member that demonstrates a fierce commitment to the goals and growth of the chapter. Sharlane Bailey, Foothill Transit’s Director of Capital Projects and Facilities, is the 2024 Member of the Year. Through her work, Sharlane demonstrates outstanding leadership, dedication, vision, and professional expertise.
Sharlane has played a pivotal role in transforming and expanding WTS-LA in many ways. For example, her collaborative efforts have revitalized WTS-LA’s Transportation YOU program. She transformed the program from a simple school outreach initiative into a comprehensive empowerment platform for young women. She then took on the role of WTS-LA Treasurer, where she’s also made incredible advancements, updating financial practices that not only make processes easier and quicker, but help the chapter prepare for even greater growth.
From when she first joined the chapter, she has contributed above and beyond what was expected. Through her volunteer work assuming the Transportation YOU Co-Chair role to her serving on committees, the board, and a whole host of other behind-the-scenes efforts, she never seeks credit or attention. She only looks to further the chapter and its mission to advance women in transportation.
