Rescue 911: PennDOT’s Emergency Response to the I-95 Collapse
On Tuesday, September 26th, 170 people gathered from six different professional societies to listen to the story of the 12 days following the tragic collapse of the I-95 Bridge. A panel discussion took place between PennDOT, Buckley Construction and Aero Aggregates on how this team found a solution that resulted in opening I-95 in 12 days following the collapse of the bridge.
This was the first large joint event between organizations initiated by Strategic Partnerships which is intended to provide more meaningful and impactful partnerships with other societies in our industry. We’d like to thank our panel members Fran Hanney (PennDOT), Harold Windisch (PennDOT), Robert Buckley (Buckley and Company), and Archie Filshill (Aero Aggregates) and our moderator, Sarah McInnis (PennDOT) for an extremely interesting and insightful look into this project.
The group hopes to make this the first part of a series of discussions about this project, so stay tuned.
