Please Support IndyGo! Call To Action Against Senate Bill 52
What is Senate Bill 52 (S.B. 52):
S.B. 52 was authored by Senator Aaron Freeman and if passed, it would ban the use of dedicated bus lanes statewide, which would include the proposed Blue Line project.
It is a top-down effort to legislate engineering design by eliminating dedicated bus lanes on future projects – Blue Line. It includes an amendment that forbids the City of Indianapolis to make traffic safety decisions about right turning movements. The best way to affect change in the Indiana assembly is to reach out to your representatives.
Currently S.B. 52 has passed out of the senate and is moving to the house. The Transportation Committee will now hear the bill; and if it passes out of committee, the house speaker will determine if it is heard. Your voice matters!
