Oliver Rivas receives WTS-LA Educator of the Year Award
Oliver Rivas immigrated to the United States from Guatemala in the fall of 1985, driven by the aspiration of leading a fulfilling life. His educational journey led him to California State University, Northridge, where he earned a BA in English, and subsequently pursued a Masters of Science in School Counseling and Leadership from California State University, Los Angeles.
Over his 23-year tenure in various roles within education, Oliver has made a positive impact on the lives of numerous children. Having served as an English teacher, school counselor, and Assistant Principal of Secondary Counseling Services, he considers his career a source of immense blessing. It has no only been rewarding an fulfilling but, above all, profoundly impactful. Oliver expresses gratitude for the recognition received and looks forward to continuing his collaboration with WTS-LA, aspiring to help more students achieve their academic goals.
