LaDonna DiCamillo, So. California Regional Director for California High-Speed Rail Authority
On February 18, 2021, WTS-LA hosted LaDonna DiCamillo, Southern California Regional Director for California High-Speed Rail Authority. She gave an update on the high-speed rail program statewide, with emphasis on progress of the four Southern California segments. One-hundred people participated in the lunchtime program.
Overall, Ms. DiCamillo spoke about the Authority's project investments statewide, economic and jobs impacts from the program, the current circulation for comments on the Authority's draft revised business plan, program funding outlook, and engagement of the future generation as riders and workers for high-speed rail. She also gave updates on the environmental clearance status for the Southern California segments (Bakersfield-Palmdale, Palmdale-Burbank, Burbank-Los Angeles, and Los Angeles-Anaheim). Ms. DiCamillo fielded questions on anticipated travel speed and times (approximately 220 mph and three hours from San Francisco to Los Angeles), the Authority's coordination on Metro's Link US project and Brightline's high-speed rail to Las Vegas project, and getting the Southern California segments environmentally cleared and shovel ready in anticipation of federal funding.
