Honoring Rosa Parks’ incredible fortitude and self-sacrifice, each year WTS-LA recognizes someone in the transportation community who displays that same sort of courage and altruism. Arellano Associates founder, principal, and owner Genoveva L. Arellano fills that role perfectly.  Genoveva, founder and principal at Arellano Associates, started her firm in 1994. Recognized for its innovative approaches in public outreach, particularly to diverse communities, the firm itself walks the walk.

Her dedication to diversity is evident in Arellano Associates' workforce, which is 69% women and 75% minorities, as well as in her mentorship of women and minorities within the transportation industry. She has significantly advanced women in leadership at her firm, where two-thirds of the management team are women leading major projects. Through her work, Ms. Arellano continues to champion representation and foster opportunities for underserved communities. Her lifelong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, coupled with her many contributions to transportation outreach, aligns seamlessly with WTS’s mission to advance women in the industry.
