Celebrating National Administrative Professionals Day with Lisa Muller
Lisa has been an Administrative Assistant for a total of 37 years, 7 years with Valley Metro. Lisa is not only a member of our WTS Phoenix-Metro Chapter, but also the Awards Ceremony Committee Chair. She has worked tirelessly for many months to make the 2023 Gala a special evening to remember. On the day to day in the administrative world, you can find Lisa in her office scheduling meetings, leading a Webex call, problem solving and making things happen for her department.
As we celebrate National Administrative Professionals Day this year, our Chapter is thankful to have members like Lisa as a part of our Board who continue to help advance women in transportation.
We asked Lisa to speak on what being a part of WTS means to her:
What brought you to the WTS organization?
April Trevett’s passion for WTS and their mission is what initially got me interested in attending a networking function. I also wanted to meet other women in the industry and form friendships since I am not originally from Arizona. The monthly luncheons also give me a good look at the history of transportation in Arizona and where we are headed.
How does being a member and committee chair of WTS help you in your career?
Being the committee chair provided me an opportunity to work with individuals from different backgrounds within the transportation industry. This allowed me to see how they worked as a group and 1 on 1. It really helped strengthen my meeting and leadership skills.
Do you have a favorite memory or professional milestone you would like to share?
I am just happy I get to do what I do every day! I love problem solving and making things happen.
What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
On Friday nights I usually go to the movies with a couple of friends. On Saturday mornings I like to FaceTime my kids in Minnesota and talk to my granddaughters who are both 2 years old, Charlotte and Brennalyn. (See attached picture). My husband, Scott, and I usually spend time hanging out together.
