2023 WTS-Boston Transportation YOU Summit Recap
The WTS-Boston Transportation YOU Committee held another successful annual Summit on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at University of Massachusetts Lowell! This event featured engaging workshops hosted by three of our sponsor companies, covering a diverse range of transportation topics, from bridge construction to bicycle and bus transportation planning, and geotechnical engineering concepts demonstrated through sandcastle building. UMass Lowell students also hosted a workshop to discuss their steel bridge and concrete canoe competitions. Lunch was provided for everyone, and the day ended with mini-activities that included field equipment demonstration, field equipment used on environmental sites, a transportation-themed board game, and a bridge erection activity.
It was a day filled with excitement and learning, and we extend our gratitude to all the volunteers and students whose dedication made it all possible. We also express our thanks to the University of Massachusetts Lowell for graciously hosting this year's 2023 Transportation YOU Summit on their campus and to all involved firms, including McMahon, Stantec, HNTB, VHB, GZA, STV, Fuss & O’Neill, Kimley-Horn, and AECOM, whose support brought this event to life.
