Karen McKinnon - Assistant County Engineer | Brazoria County
Karen McKinnon has been an Assistant County Engineer for Brazoria County for over 4 years. As assistant county engineer, she has managed county road widening, relocation, and improvement projects through design and construction. She is currently overseeing the construction on the Courthouse Expansion project. She also acts as the BCTRA program manager which includes planning for the BC Expressway Extension. Before joining Brazoria County, Karen worked in the maintenance and construction group at Harris County Toll Road Authority for 10 years. Karen has spent the last 18 years as a civil engineer in the transportation field designing and constructing highways and tollways.
Wael Tabara - Assistant County Engineer | Brazoria County
Wael Tabara recently joined Brazoria County Engineering Department as Assistant County Engineer. Wael has more than 14 years of engineering experience in design and construction projects in Canada and the U.S., including heavy civil infrastructure projects, commercial and institutional building construction in the $120 million to $1.5 billion dollars range. He holds a Master’s degree in civil engineering/construction management from Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec. Wael is a licensed Professional Engineer with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and the Professional Engineers of Ontario, Canada. He is also certified as a Floodplain Manager and an Envision Sustainability Professional. In addition to spending time with his family, Wael enjoys playing and coaching soccer, reading and traveling.
