The WTS Greater Chicago Chapter has partnered with IDOT to host a Phase I training class. This course is designed to help attendees understand IDOT’s Phase I process for state- and local-sponsored transportation projects.

Topics: 

Differences among Categorical Exclusion (CE), Environmental Assessment (EA), and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS); Developing a transportation project’s purpose and need; Roles and responsibilities of local, state, and federal agencies; Analyzing and incorporating engineering and environmental findings; Bicycle and Pedestrian Accommodations; Environmental Studies conducted through the Environmental Survey Request process, Environmental Justice, and Public Involvement.
