WTS Nevada members! Please join us and volunteer at the Girls on the Run Las Vegas Spring 5K Celebration – Saturday, April 26th at UNLV. WTS and SWE (Society of Women Engineers) with Girls on the Run (GOTR) a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to enhance participants' social, emotional, and physical skills to successfully navigate life experiences. GOTR Las Vegas Chapter has 36 teams of approximately 575 girls (3rd – 5th grades) participating in the program this Spring! At the end of their program on April 26th, the participants run a celebration 5K and the group needs volunteers like us to make this 5K special!
As a volunteer:
First, you will transform the UNLV Campus into a true GOTR 5K Celebration. You will set up barricades, hang team signs, put up the GOTR photo backdrop and selfie station, set up the Gratitude Wall, put up the finish line and set up the Inspiration Station, and get registration all set for arriving participants. Then, the magic begins! You'll help participants find their parking location and make their way to the event, provide registration and general guidance on what's where, guide the team parade, cheer along the course, hand out water at the Hydration Station, hand out medals at the finish line, and distribute snacks to finishers! Finally, you'll help us bring all gear and barricades back to the staging area.
