Join the Professional Development Committee as we welcome Lisa Schletzbaum (MassDOT), Allison Sweeney (MBTA), and Rebecca Williamson(Jacobs), of WTS-Boston's Advisory Board for a reflection on how confidence has played a part in their lives and careers, as well as tips on how to boost and use your confidence in sincere, mindful ways. An article will be shared in advance and the event will start with a TED Talk to offer attendees varying perspectives on the role and use of confidence. The event will conclude with time for group discussion and questions on the topic.
The Advisory Board Members:
Lisa Schletzbaum, MassDOT
Lisa Schletzbaum serves as Assistant State Traffic Engineer for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Highway Division. She works closely with the Headquarters and District Traffic Engineering staff as well as consulting engineers on project development. Lisa focuses on process, communication, and procedural improvements to ensure that staff and designers are working together. She has a dozen years of planning and transportation design experience in the private sector and 15 years of safety and design management at MassDOT. Lisa is a leader in the industry currently serving as an Advisory Board member for the WTS-Boston Chapter. Previously she served in a half dozen leadership roles within WTS-Boston including a two-year term as President.
Allison Sweeney, MBTA
Allison Sweeney is a Project Coordinator in the MBTA Capital Delivery Bridge & Structures Group. She received her Master’s in Public Administration at the McCormack Graduate School of Policy & Global Studies at University of Massachusetts, Boston. She has been a WTS-Boston member for 15+ years having served in leadership roles as Committee Co-Chair, Director-at-Large and currently on the Advisory Board.
Rebecca Williamson, Jacobs
Rebecca is currently the New England Transportation Market Leader and a Client Service Leader for many New England infrastructure clients. She brings over thirty years of experience, five with Jacobs, in the transportation industry. She has an extensive and varied background as a designer, project manager, and principal-in-charge on multi-disciplined projects and has developed strong client relationships throughout New England. She is versed in all facets of roadway reconstruction, transportation engineering, traffic and safety engineering, drainage and stormwater design and environmental permitting. A specialist in project control and schedule and budget adherence, she also has extensive experience in public speaking and community participation, having moderated and presented at public hearings, community meetings and workshops. She currently sits on the board of ACEC Massachusetts and the recently formed Jacobs I&D Action Planning Committee.
