Join Jeff Malloy, PhD, CFM and Erica Blonde, AICP for a discussion on the intersectionality between climate resilience and social equity. The session will discuss key concepts, the linkages between the two fields, and a discussion on the challenges and opportunities of embedding these concepts into practice. Erica Blonde, AICP
Erica is an Associate Vice President and Engagement and Equity Manager out of HNTB’s Boston office. Blonde brings a diverse background of public involvement and mobility equity experience throughout the Northeast and California. Blonde’s focus area is using technology to reach historically underserved communities and evaluating outreach strategies using geospatial data. Blonde currently serves as outreach lead for MassDOT’s Cape Cod Bridges Program. Blonde serves on the steering committee for the TRB Conference on Transportation Equity. Blonde earned a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Jeff Malloy, PhD, CFM
Jeff is a climate resiliency expert with specialized academic and professional experience in environmental science, urban climate change governance, public policy implementation, and social justice. He has collaborated with transportation agencies, as well as communities, throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to promote strategies for enhancing climate resilience, social mobility, equity, and accessibility. As HNTB’s Director of Climate Resilience, Jeffrey routinely engages in internal and external coordination with staff and industry clients to incorporate climate resilient solutions into project planning and design.
