The City of Durham Transportation Department launched a study this year to develop a community-led vision for the Durham Freeway corridor, which destroyed several historically black neighborhoods when it was built in the 1970s. Erin Convery, Transportation Planning Manager, is leading the study and will be the featured speaker. She will cover the history of the freeway, the project goals, and how the City will engage with the community to ensure that underserved communities most affected by the freeway construction are heard.
