About our Speaker
Kathy has over 30 years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning. Kathy has been involved with private and public transportation projects primarily in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. and has led several traffic operations and safety projects under contracts with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), including rulemaking and outreach support for transportation safety performance measures, the Highway Safety Improvement Program, sign and pavement marking retroreflectivity and several editions and revisions to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
Apart from her roles with federal projects, she assists state and local agencies with policy issues, transportation planning, and traffic engineering projects. Kathy is currently the Chair of the ITE Delegation to the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and is a member of the Guide/Motorist Information Sign Technical Committee. She is passionate about transportation safety and developing solutions to improve safety for all who use our transportation system.
