MEPA & EJ 101 – Crossing the Professional Threshold

Join the WTS Professional Development Committee and the Environmental Business Council (EBC) Ascending Professionals for a webinar introducing new practitioners and professionals to the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act ("MEPA") and its recent incorporation of Environmental Justice ("EJ") principles. This program put on by EBC will teach you about MEPA's background and purpose, when it applies to projects, and the necessary filings and materials to ensure compliance. It will also cover the new Environmental Justice Protocols, which became effective on January 1, 2022, and the most recent regulatory amendments, which became effective on January 6, 2023. These Protocols and regulations created new obligations for Proponents, including additional public involvement and analysis. This program will also explore some of the tools available to you, such as the Environmental Monitor and the EJ Maps Viewer. The MEPA & EJ 101 Webinar will provide perspectives from a variety of MEPA practitioners and technical advisors.

A robust panel discussion with the audience will conclude the webinar.
