Pop up projects have become increasingly common in communities across the United States. These fast and inexpensive projects adapt our streets so we can experiment with bicycle lanes, expanded outdoor dining areas and public art installations on a temporary commitment.
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, pop-up projects took on even more importance as traffic and commuting patterns changed, and new dining regulations led the restaurant community to get creative with space on the sidewalks and streets.
For this program, Richard J. Montanez, P.E., Deputy Commissioner-Transportation Department of Streets, City of Philadelphia, will discuss the current City of Philadelphia Health Guidelines for Outdoor Cafes and Restaurants, which are ever evolving, and share lessons learned.
One (1) PDH will be earned for full participation in the session.
