After a century of dedicated service, the North Washington Street Bridge is being replaced with a new bridge designed for the modern era. This new bridge will be a comprehensive and inclusive thoroughfare over water, catering to the needs of various individuals, including motorists, bus passengers, cyclists, pedestrians, tourists, boaters, and local residents. Whether you are strolling along the Freedom Trail for a meal in the North End, taking a bus from Chelsea or Charlestown, driving your children to school, or enjoying a kayak adventure in the Harbor, the North Washington Street Bridge plays a vital role in your daily life.
On Thursday, August 10th, please join WTS-Boston for the annual Summer Tour featuring MassDOT's North Washington Street Bridge Replacement Project! The tour will be led by MassDOT Resident Engineer, Sardar Jajan, as he provides an exclusive inside look at the construction progress.
