2024 WTS International Signature Leadership Training

It will take strong leadership to develop a future of transportation that is equitable, secure, and accessible. This new generation of leaders will need to be innovative, creative, and compassionate. The WTS International Signature Leadership Program prepares women to guide the future of the industry. Participants hear from expert facilitators and speakers, practice effective management skills, learn how to assess risk, and develop other professional skills that will advance not only their own careers, but those who use transportation services in their communities.

Split into two program tracks, WTS International's Executive Leader Program is targeted toward women leaders preparing for the highest levels of management — setting strategic directions; making decisions to stay on course; and maneuvering through change. The WTS Mid-Career Leadership Program provides the building blocks necessary for advancement in participants established career paths — identifying foundational strengths and building critical skills.

Applying to Signature Leadership Training: Mid-Career Track

Thie Mid-Career Program is designed for professionals with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience, demonstrating career progression and substantial industry knowledge or expertise 5-10 years of experience. Applicants should have a robust portfolio of experience that includes:

Responsibility for managing specific projects, teams, or departments with an emphasis on operational efficiency, project execution, and meeting immediate goals.
Influence over an immediate team or department, contributing to processes and systems within an area of control.
Decision-making authority related to projects or teams, often within the framework of established policies and strategies.
A deep understanding of specific aspects of the transportation industry, such as logistics, operations, or engineering.
Focus on ensuring effective implementation of projects and initiatives and contributing to improvements across the lifespan of the project/initiative.
A background and experience in community leadership, which may include participation in WTS International
An exhibited passion for and a career committed to the transportation industry

Applications must be submitted by July 26, 2024. Submission of applications do not guarantee registration. Applicants notified of acceptance will receive a welcome packet including a commitment form, program invoice, and additional information. We encourage you to apply for the cohort that you believe best aligns with your current role and aspirations. WTS International reserves the right to place you in a different cohort based on your application. We encourage all interested female-identifying individuals to apply, even if they do not feel they meet every bullet point of criteria.

Applying to Signature Leadership Training: Executive Track

The Executive Program program is designed for professionals with 10-20 years of experience, demonstrating significant career progression and expert industry knowledge. Applicants should have a robust portfolio of experience that includes:

Strategic responsibility for the entire organization or large divisions, including setting long-term goals, creating strategic plans, and making high-level decisions that impact the organization/department’s overall direction and success.
Influence throughout the entire organization, shaping company culture, policies, and industry positioning, often representing the organization in external engagements and negotiations.

High-stakes decision-making authority that affects the organization/department’s strategy, financial health, and market position, including the authority to steer the organization/department in new directions and allocate significant resources.
Combination of broad industry knowledge with in-depth expertise across multiple areas.
Visionary leadership, inspiring and guiding the entire organization/department towards long-term goals by driving innovation, fostering a strong organizational culture, and maintaining stakeholder confidence.
A background and experience in community leadership, which may include participation in WTS International
Current or past experience supervising others
An exhibited passion for and a career committed to the transportation industry

Meet the Facilitators

CARRIE COLLINS, JD, PHD
Carrie Collins, JD, PhD is the founder and CEO of H.O.W. LLC, a consulting company that helps businesses do business better. She is highly sought-after for her ability to facilitate challenging discussions, develop and execute strategic plans, and create customized team building and training sessions.

Her expertise has been tapped by a wide variety of organizations across industries, including technology, professional services (law, human resources, finance, accounting), entertainment, non-profits, industry associations, healthcare, medicine, education, and government, including the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab.

AMY BURFORD, MBA
A high energy change agent with a Swiss army knife skill set to find and unlock value, Amy drives profitable growth while coaching and motivating teams to navigate change. Her expertise spans product management, operations, general management, sales, and entrepreneurship. Amy began her career with Lucent Technologies, transforming professional services to a fee-for-service model prior to transitioning into sales.

She leverages her experience and certifications while guiding teams and individuals through change management. She is credentialed as a “Navigating Challenging Dialog Facilitator”, an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coaching Federation and certified as a PROSCI change management practitioner.

Registration Cancellation & Refund Policy

All cancellations must be in writing and emailed to [email protected], and must be received by 11:59 PM ET on Friday, October 4th. Registration cancellation fees submitted by close of business on Friday, October 4th will be fully refunded minus a 25% cancellation fee.

Registration refund requests for the 2024 Signature Leadership Training program will be processed 7–10 days post event closing. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Registrant no-shows will not be refunded.

If WTS International cancels the 2024 Signature Leadership Training program for any reason, all registrants will be notified by email to the address used in his or her original registration.

WTS Event Anti-Harassment Policy

Training participants who violate these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event without a refund at the discretion of the event organizers.
